"Singer-songwriter Chad Elliott's newest album, "Singing River,” brought the musician's Iowa sound to the renowned FAME Recording Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama.
"Released on Monday, the project was years in the making. "Elliott and Iowa guitarist and producer Bo Ramsey worked together on Elliott’s “Redemption Man” album in 2009. One of the songs, “Same, Old Way,” stuck out for Ramsey, who suggested playing it with a Muscle Shoals vibe. “That was what planted the seed for me to say: I'd love to go down someday to Muscle Shoals and get some of the original Swampers alongside with that Iowa electrified roots sound,” Elliott said. “I think there's a lot of similarity to some of those sounds. And I thought it would be a really perfect marriage of sounds with Bo Ramsey’s signature style and with that backbeat Muscle Shoals rhythm section. “Somehow fate intervened and it happened. It took a lot of planning and dreaming, but it came to fruition.” - From Ames Tribune feature by Ronna Faaborg. See full article HERE.
