Grammy Award-winning guitar player and songwriter Bo Ramsey and Wood Guthrie Song Contest winner Chad Elliott will co-bill a show at the Temple Theater, 1011 Locust St., Des Moines, IA, on March 20, 2020 at 7:30 p.m.
“I am honored to share the stage with Bo. This venue will be a wonderful place to put on a great show,” Elliott said. This isn't the first time Ramsey and Elliott have crossed paths, as Ramsey produced Elliott's 2009 release, Redemption Man. “It was a pleasure working with Chad on the record. Ever since I’ve been hoping that we would have another opportunity to work together again. Well, that time has come,” Ramsey said. It won't be the last time they work together, either. Shortly after this performance, the two will head to Muscle Shoals, AL to record Elliott's next album at FAME Studios. “This upcoming record will be a bucket list project for me. Recording in a legendary room with legendary artists like Bo and a couple of the original Muscle Shoals ‘Swampers.’ I can’t think of anything better,” Elliott said. Tickets to see Bo Ramsey and Chad Elliott live at the Temple Theater on March 20 are now on sale at https://desmoinesperformingarts.org/. “I am looking forward to our show in Des Moines and hope that we deliver a night of quality music and songs,” Ramsey said. For those who might recognize Bo Ramsey by his association with artists like Lucinda Williams, Greg Brown, Kevin Gordon, Pieta Brown, Charlie Parr and others, his new music is the perfect introduction to someone who always listens and plays with his own sonic vision in full motion. So not surprisingly, the list of Ramsey’s accolades is long: including Grammy-award winning guitar player, two-time Grammy nominated producer, Iowa Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Iowa Blues Hall of Famer. “For the show at the Temple Theater, I’m going to play a set of my songs accompanied by Marty Christensen on bass guitar and Randall Davis on electric guitar,” Ramsey said. Elliott’s music blends folk roots, swampy blues and soulful writing to deliver an original Americana sound. His live performances have been honed over a decade of being on the road performing more than 200 shows each year. Elliott is lauded as “Iowa’s Renaissance man” by Culture Buzz Magazine. He has penned more than 1,500 songs in his career while also cultivating his skills as a painter, sculptor, illustrator and author (Wilderman’s Treetop Tales; Rumble & Flash).
